What Connecticut Homeowners Are Saying
"Highly recommend TJs! I used them to help with some debris and junk removal that we had been putting off and they were super professional, incredibly helpful, and non-judgmental. They were affordable and saved us the hassle of renting a dumpster and having to haul stuff ourselves."
"The team that came to help clean out our garage and get rid of some big items in the yard was fantastic. The estimate they gave me at the beginning was exactly what I ended up paying. The guys were very fast and got everything out in about 30 minutes."
"I reached out to TJ's because they were independently owned and had excellent reviews. I had become overwhelmed by the garage and basement. In 2 hours the areas were cleared and cleaned. The staff were respectful, professional, and non-judgmental. I highly recommend them."
"The crew at TJ's was very friendly and efficient. They were on time and removed our hot tub with ease and didn't have any issues at all. I appreciated the way they thoroughly cleaned up. Would highly recommend."
"TJ's was a joy to work with. The whole process was easy, pricing was transparent and fair, and everyone from the company was very kind and agreeable. They did a fantastic job, showed up promptly on time and were happy to even pick up a few extra things we found while they were there."
"TJ's did an excellent job of removing a bunch of old furniture. Great crew! Arrived as scheduled!"
The dorm lease is up and the ferry line’s backed up on Bank Street. TJ’s Cleanout Services handles junk removal, property cleanouts, and demolition throughout New London, from the downtown blocks and Fort Trumbull out to the Pequot Avenue waterfront, Ocean Beach, and the historic homes along Williams Street.
How much does junk removal cost in New London?
We price by the space your load takes in the truck, quoted on-site and approved by you before we start. There’s no hourly clock, so a cramped third-floor unit downtown or a Pequot Avenue cottage with a long walk to the driveway doesn’t change your price.
College move-outs and waterfront turnovers
New London empties out fast at the end of the academic year. Off-campus units near downtown and Williams Street fill up with mattresses, futons, and whatever didn’t fit in the car.
We clear a unit in a single visit and run back-to-back turnovers for landlords managing multiple properties in the same block. Seasonal cottages and condos along Pequot Avenue and near Ocean Beach are the same problem. Our apartment cleanout service covers both.
What we haul in New London
We take furniture and appliances, electronics and e-waste, construction and demolition debris, yard waste, hot tubs, mattresses, and tires. E-waste, mattresses, tires, and freon appliances carry an added recycling fee, which we name during the estimate rather than at the end.
We don’t take car batteries, propane tanks, vehicles, wet paint, motor oil, chemicals and solvents, asbestos, biohazard or medical waste, firearms, boats, or pianos. Ask us during the estimate and we’ll be straight with you about what stays.
Estate and whole-house cleanouts in New London
You don’t have to sort anything first. We take it all, set aside what can be donated, and work at whatever pace the family needs. Plenty of families hand us a key. Our estate cleanout service covers the property start to finish.
Demolition and structural removal in New London
We’re licensed for structural demolition, so this is our own crew rather than a subcontractor. Shed and garage teardowns, deck removals, fence pulls, and interior gutouts all include the debris haul as part of the job.
Aging decks and outbuildings come up often near the water, where salt air speeds up the wear.
New London’s trusted junk removal crew
We’re family-owned with a 5-star rating on Google. Troy stays directly involved in the work.

General contractor services in New London
Our general contracting license covers demolition, flooring, drywall, siding, painting, and kitchen and bath renovation for New London homeowners and landlords. Free estimate for any scope.
New London sits where the Thames River meets Long Island Sound, and that geography shapes the work: waterfront condos and cottages around Pequot Avenue and Ocean Beach, dense Victorian housing stock downtown, and a steady flow of student turnover from Connecticut College, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, and Mitchell College. Older multi-family buildings near the harbor and historic single-family homes further from the water each bring a different kind of cleanout.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do you price multi-unit buildings and condos with elevators in downtown New London?
Condos downtown and near the waterfront have elevators or narrow stairs, and some charge for elevator use. We factor that into the flat price before we start.
Do you handle student move-outs near Connecticut College and the Coast Guard Academy?
Yes. Late spring turnover around Connecticut College, the Coast Guard Academy, and Mitchell College leaves behind mattresses, dorm furniture, and mini fridges. We clear units in a single visit and coordinate with landlords managing multiple properties on the same block. Call (860) 503-9062 to book ahead of the rush. The last two weeks of May fill first.
What can you take out of a damp waterfront basement, storage unit or cottage in New London?
Waterfront properties accumulate mildewed furniture, corroded fixtures, and water-damaged boxes. We haul all of it. Propane tanks and old fuel cans turn up in cottage sheds and need a household hazardous waste collection instead. Everything else in the basement and garage, we'll load.
Is same-day service available in New London?
Not usually. New London is at the edge of our regular service radius, so we run it on a fixed weekly route rather than our standard same-day service. Next-day and same-day slots do come open depending on the route that week. Call (860) 503-9062 and we'll tell you the next available date.
Why does the fixed weekly route actually work better for New London customers?
You get a specific date and a two-hour window, and we don't over-promise same-day slots. Family-owned, 5-star on Google, licensed and insured.
Which parts of New London do you serve?
We serve neighborhoods across New London, including Downtown New London, Ocean Beach and Fort Trumbull. Same-day and next-day appointments are often available, Monday through Sunday, 7am to 10pm.
Do you also serve towns near New London?
Yes. Besides New London, we also serve nearby Groton, Waterford and Norwich, plus towns across New London County. If your town isn't listed, call (860) 503-9062. We often cover surrounding areas too.
